My photos may not be the best but I couldn't help share a bit of my first ballet experience here in the blog! The Nutcracker by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet started over the weekend and I had the privilege of seeing their first performance. Of course, photography was prohibited during the show itself so most of the photos here are from outside the theatre. But for the costumes, music & dancing, trust me when I say The Nutcracker is worth seeing. The show runs until December 28 and you can get tickets here.

As the holidays are upon us, I decided to do one post this week as I foresee a really busy one for me! Here's to hoping each of you get to celebrate the holidays filled with wonderful gifts, good food, great company and true happiness!

With December rolling by, holiday decor is at an all time high amongst local floral shops. I managed to stop by a couple of my favourites along Corydon to check out what they had to offer at this time of the year. From poinsettias, evergreens, wreaths, ready made bouquets & custom made arrangements, you cannot really go wrong with either Oak & Lily or Academy Florist. Both shops also sell complementary gifts to go with the fresh flowers, such as cards, vases and candles. 

Other Floral/Plant options to consider are:

- Fache Florals' Pop up Bouquets: Best 'bang for your buck' priced at $20 each. She has a private floral studio but if you follow her IG, you'll know where you can grab her bouquets (pop up events)

- Beyond Flowers: Best for classic arrangements. Being older and more established in the city, this shop is a go-to for all kinds of events from funerals, corporate functions and weddings. 

- Verde Terrariums: Best for people who don't have a green thumb. Their pop up location is ending this month so better go there asap. They're also selling wreaths at the Lucky Girl Pop up tomorrow.

- Department of Floristry: Best when visiting the Exchange District. The in-store event at Tiny Feast is this weekend. Check out the handmade brass & acrylic structures she sells with her air plants.

Christmas week is here & parties have been happening. This year, my friends and I decided to go fine dining at 529 Wellington Steakhouse. The restaurant is located inside a restored mansion within an affluent neighbourhood in the city. They boast of being able to provide the best variety of quality steaks here in Winnipeg. The ambience is wonderful, the food is superb. The prices are a bit steep, but portions are huge! Definitely, it's a perfect place for celebrating something special.
