I was invited by Ford Canada to join a special event they were hosting last week. Best-selling author, speaker, tv host and world traveller, Robin Esrock was doing his Great Canadian Prairies tour which included Manitoba as his last stop. The event started with a gathering of some local social media influencers for a 3-course lunch at Smith, Inn at the Forks while having the main man, Robin Esrock give an inspiring presentation of his travel experiences and aspirations. Following lunch, we hit the road in brand new Ford vehicles to the world renowned Narcisse Snake Pits. Word of advice, if you have a fear of snakes, you might not want to google it. According to National Geographic, it's billed to be the largest gathering of snakes anywhere in the world and during this time of year, the Manitoba climate and geology makes for the perfect mating ground for these reptiles. This is definitely one for the books, one to put in your bucket list.

As part of the entire event, I was generously given a signed copy of Robin Esrock's book, The Great Canadian Bucket List, to giveaway to my readers. To enter, simply share something you'd like to cross off your own bucketlist in the comments below. Giveaway runs until next week, May 18 and is open to Canadian & US residents. I can't wait to see your submissions!

For my 300th post, I'm bringing it back to how my blogging was when I started: an effortless outfit paired with a feature on a local restaurant (how can you ever go wrong with fashion & food?!)
I found myself wandering around the Forks and finally trying out the new Smith Restaurant located within the Inn at the Forks hotel. The hotel went through a whole renovation from their banquet hall, in-house spa and restaurant. Smith took over the previous Current restaurant and basically revamped the whole ambiance of the space to be more contemporary and hip to the times. Their menu now features shared-plate dishes and craft cocktails, a trend happening in the Winnipeg dining scene. We ordered the Smith crafted charcuterie board, Buttermilk fried half chicken and Smith fries (truffle oil, asiago & thyme) and everything was so delicious. Recently, Smith also opened their patio (no pictures unfortunately) just in time for summer. With all that being said, if you're looking for a spot to hang out this season, Smith is a wonderful choice!
