In today's post, I'm sharing a number of pictures from things I did over the week including a Travel Manitoba tour of Fort Whyte Alive, shore fishing outside the city and attending Made with Love, a mixology competition featuring local bartenders.
- Travel Manitoba hosted their first Instameet at Fort Whyte Alive which included making bannock & rosehip tea before being led to a guided tour of the bison trails. -
- Tagging along my dad, brother and husband, we went shore fishing in Lockport, Selkirk and Gimli (all fishing spots outside of my city) but sadly went home with only one caught fish. -
- I got invited to attend Made with Love, which is an international culinary event highlighting cocktail mixers and bartenders. The overall vibe of this event was AMAZING and I must say one of the best I've attended in the city. I want to let my vlog speak for itself (took tons of video clips than photos) so make sure you watch until the end -

It's been seasonally warmer than the usual here but this hasn't stopped me from trying out new places serving my go-to meal, noodle soup! I have tried everything from pho, ramen, udon and korean stews but I've never had hand-pulled noodles anywhere here in the city. So when I saw Dancing Noodle from Chef Ben Kramer's IG account, I knew I had to make my way there. Upon ordering, you're asked how thick or thin you want your noodles and how spicy you want the base soup to be. The place itself can be overlooked as your typical asian eatery but their signature beef noodle soup is like no other. Dancing Noodle is located at 1393A Pembina Hwy and open Monday to Saturday (12nn to 9:30pm).

It's definitely Fall here in Winnipeg & I couldn't resist doing a Fall City Guide to feature some old and new spots my hometown has to offer during this time of the year.
To start a cool & crisp morning, I recommend warming up with a cup of joe from one of my favourite cafe, Little Sister Coffee Maker in Osborne.

For breakfast, the newly opened, Creme De L'Essence, serves comfort food with a french fusion twist. I got their Chicken & Waffles, while the boy opted for their Eggs Benjamin --- both of which were perfect to start a long day ahead.

During the daytime, it's nice to make a drive out of the city. The highways are lined with trees in their changing autumn colours. I decided to check out Gimli for the first time and discovered how interesting this small rural municipality is.

When visiting, make sure to check out the Viking Statue as Gimli is also known to be the Heart of New Iceland. Also located downtown is H.P.Tergesen & Sons, a general store that has been in operation since 1899.

After a quick day trip, we headed back to Winnipeg and made our way to Fort Whyte Alive. For this month, they are featuring Sunset Goose Flights. It's a great way to witness a breath taking display of thousands of geese landing half an hour after the sun sets below the horizon.
Whether you're with family, a group of friends or a photo enthusiast, it's a wonderful way of appreciating the change in season.

To cap the night off, I suggest getting small bites and craft cocktails at Black Rabbit Bistro. They have a good variety of drinks, all priced at $8, which is both convenient & affordable if you ask me.

If you had just 24 hours to spend in my city, the places I have listed here are must-sees while passing through. I use Eventbrite to help find events locally and even when I'm travelling elsewhere. They also have tools to create and promote your own events -- you can check that out here!
