This marks my first post since the city received a generous amount of snow, so excuse the shortage of my ootd pics! In the meantime, I've started to look for some indoor events to keep me and this blog busy. Aside from the numerous holiday markets happening, I also discovered Sing Out, Louise - an intimate event gathering showtune fans all over the city. Once a month, this group provides a mic, an accompanist and a theme for avid musical theatre artists. Fools and Horses, located aptly along Broadway Ave, hosts the event in their space while serving your favourite drinks from beer, wine, coffee & tea. Oh and did I mention that this was free? So whether you want to participate as a performer or just as a member of the audience, Sing Out Louise is a wonderful local event to attend. Follow their instagram for the latest event announcements!

As promised, I'm featuring this new cafe called Fools and Horses located along Broadway. As someone who works in this part of the city, I've always thought that this area needed a specialty coffee shop. Here comes Fools and Horses Coffee, Winnipeg's first Modbar. That means that their brewing systems are completely modular with all the major hardware under-counter to provide espresso, steam & drip coffee on tap. Aside from that, they are also licensed to serve beer and wine on tap. Their food selection includes locally made baked goods, a variety of specialty toast, sandwiches and charcuterie boards. The couple of times I've hung out here, the place has been packed and that's no surprise. Whether it's catching up with friends or going solo with some personal tasks, Fools and Horses is a great new inviting spot to be at.
