A couple of weeks back, I had a chance to visit the Dalnavert Museum during the Doors Open event here in Winnipeg. I've been meaning to check out this house from 1895 ever since one of my friends started volunteering here and I can't believe I waited this long to finally see it. "The Queen Anne Revival Style home has been meticulously restored to offer a glimpse of Canada’s early years, through the lens of an affluent Winnipeg family". I wasn't able to take a lot of pictures since it was only the main floor that was open to the public at that time (there were second & third levels). However, whatever I saw really prompted me to start planning my next visit to this heritage site. With all the more contemporary (and dare I say 'hipster') spots the city has to offer, the Dalnavert Museum remains to be a great destination for local historical knowledge and culture.
