It's spring break! Even though it technically does not apply to me as my student days have long passed, I wanted to share with you some ideas if you happen to be a local reader or looking for something to do in your own city.
- Check out a local coffee and donut shop: This month one of my favourite cafes, Little Sister Coffee Maker, is bringing back their Honey Lavender Latte. A good 10-minute walk from here is Oh Doughnuts, which produces some of the most delicious treats including vegan and gluten free options. I highly recommend this combination if you are from Winnipeg.
- Find a quick day trip from your city: Just 30 minutes away from Winnipeg is Pineridge Hollow and this remains to be one of the most charming locations I've been to. From a restaurant, a boutique, a greenhouse and even a small grazing field for farm animals, this place is sure to give you the quintessential prairie experience. (Also, makes for the perfect ootd background).
- Drive around and shoot local scenery: Through friends, I've discovered a scenic route around Lockport, Manitoba. It goes by the river and gives you perfect shots of majestic houses in that community. It's also cool to see how the season is changing based on the thawing body of water.
- Treat yourself to beer / wine / cocktails: One of the newest and busiest microbrewery in town is Brazen Hall. Situated along Pembina Hwy, this brewpub features amazing local beers and delicious  from-scratch food pairings, sure to fill you up. The place itself is huge and beautifully decorated - perfect for groups; There is a buzz across the hall which speaks volumes about how inviting the ambiance is. It is such a great spot, I've been there twice since it opened last week.

I'm not one for hosting big parties for my birthday but I was quite spoiled over the weekend since I got to eat at my favourite local restaurants, use some gift cards for great deals at the mall and spend quality time with my favourite people.
- Brunch with the boy at Pineridge Hollow -
- Picking up fresh flowers at Academy Florists -
- Dinner with friends at Chew -
- Late night singing at Q Karaoke -
- Family dinner at Bonfire Bistro -
Perfect time and post to actually say that I felt so #blessed and grateful for everything!

It was a whirlwind of a weekend as one of my closest friends, Arianne, got married last Saturday. After months of planning, the day finally arrived for the lovely couple. I was taking in the hosting duties for the lunch reception that day so pardon my pictures for being so haphazardly taken. We were blessed with amazing weather that morning for the garden ceremony and Pineridge Hollow was the perfect setting for this intimate rustic-themed wedding.

On a more personal note, this marks another milestone in my 10-year friendship with these ladies. From finishing masters, engagements, marriage and pregnancies, all of us are in various stages of our lives and yet we still manage to keep in touch. Here's to friendship, love and happiness!

I was treated lunch by my good friend, Arianne, at Pineridge Hollow a couple of days ago. As much as I enjoyed the food in the restaurant, I specifically wanted to share some pictures & thoughts on their lifestyle store since I wasn't able to browse around the last time I was here.

Just a few minutes outside Winnipeg, Pineridge Hollow is a popular destination for both locals and tourists to the city who want to have that full prairie living experience. The entire property is composed of a greenhouse, a petting zoo, a restaurant and a lifestyle store in the midst of lush gardens. Upon entering, you have the option of looking at their home decor & furniture section on the left side or their kitchenware & gift shop on the right. Also located in the attic is their clothing boutique, Lavish Apparel. I should just let the pictures do more of the talking since pretty much every shot I took here was Pinterest perfect! It's like I literally stepped inside a magazine. For more of this beautiful lifestyle inspiration, check out their website here.
