Just wrapped up a long weekend here in Canada and I got to spend time at the International Peace Garden located at the southwest border of Canada and USA. The garden symbolizes the peace and friendship between the two countries. It even houses a tribute to the September 11 tragedy with the peace towers at the end of the site. Being a total sucker for anything cacti and floral, the 3-hour drive to get there from Winnipeg is totally worth it. The garden is open year round and during the summer months, it grows a thousand types of flowers and plants. One of the highlights for me was seeing the conservatory with all the different types of cacti and possibly the biggest succulents ever! I highly recommend visiting this place if you're looking to find a weekend getaway from the city. For more information, you can check out their site here.
