top 9 outfits for 2009

so in my mere attempts to have a year-ender post, i ended up browsing thru my outfit pictures and picking my favorites. it's weird coz i started doing the whole chictopia thing last january and it's been fun being able to dress up and document them. and now with another year, im starting this new blog.

i didn't do much today. i just finished my research assistant take home work and sent it to my supervisor. im picking up my cousins later tonight in the airport. they celebrated the holidays back home in the philippines. it will be so nice to hear about their experiences and see pictures of how everyone is doing. but more of that on a another post..

so this would be my fashion-related 2009 review post. let's see if i get another free day and be able to make another year-ender post regarding a different topic. maybe top 9 restaurants i've been, top purchases or top events/activities this year? hmm.. what do you think?

goals and resolutions..

well.. let's see.. i normally don't end up fulfilling my resolution list but who knows.. maybe actually listing it in a blog like this will help me make them work for this year.

so here's my list...
1. get a decent job related to my degree: i really want and hope to get a marketing job here in winnipeg. given that the job market becomes weak here, i would probably be willing to relocate somewhere else in canada, who knows!?

2. lose some weight: i normally end up maintaining my weight. i lose some pounds in the summer, gain them back in the winter. hopefully, this year i actually get to lower down my weight. im keeping tieka as my inspiration.

3. be able to visit the philippines: i need to save up and i really want to celebrate the holidays of 2010 back home. i miss family and friends there. since i graduate this february, a visit home would be the perfect grad gift for myself. :D

4. add quality clothes and shoes in my closet: i think it's about time i invest in pieces that will last me for a long time, especially since im entering the 'workforce' already. it's that another stage in my life. i've been so inspired by people in chictopia who are able to look so good in basic pieces. i'd want to achieve that this year.

5. get a driver's license: yeah, i know.. im in my twenties and i still don't know how to drive. poor me. well, i know how to maneuver a car, but to actually get the written and road test is another thing. i totally need to get my license so that i can go around more and not be restricted by public transportation or rely merely with someone who has a vehicle.

6. get my canadian citizenship and travel here in north america: i can't wait. we sent applications last june 2009 and hopefully, we can travel across the border by june 2010. i've been wanting to go to the states for the shopping, food, amusement parks and especially to visit friends who have migrated there.

7. be a religious blogger: last year, i started chictopia and became hooked. i want to be as hooked in this new blog as with my chictopia. i think it's a good place to write not only about fashion stuff, but things i generally enjoy in life. it's a good release and distraction to the busy year head. teehee!

New Year's Eve

as much as i would want to give you a year-end post, i don't think this blog has been active enough to be bombarded with tons of pictures and memories all at once. hahaha! so bare with me and let me just tell you of what happened in my new year's eve.

before the festivities, here's my outfit for the night. i went with one of the dresses i got this christmas. since everyone's doing the shiny glitter inspired outfits, i went for a shimmery silver tunic paired with purple tights just to refrain from the expected black ones. im no make up expert but i tried to incorporate the colors of my outfit with my eye make up too! :D

oh, let me just specifically tell you about my nephew here. i was trying to take pictures for my chictopia and just when the timer was about to go off, he went infront of the camera and blocked my shot!!! such a naughty kid, but oh-so-cute nevertheless! :D

anyway, so my family went to my aunt's place again and together with some family friends had a hearty dinner there. yeah, i know.. all we do is eat and drink during times like this. (which reminds me that we're going to attend another get together this sunday! aaacckk, the eating never stops!)

my aunt decorated the buffet area with the christmas cards she got this year. that's pretty neat!

before the clock hit 12mn, we drove back to our house to welcome 2010 there! i jumped as soon as it was 12mn in hopes of becoming taller this year! that's filipino superstition for you, my dear readers. hahahaha! all in all, the celebration went well. here's to another year ahead!
